Review: Wederganger - Halfvergaan Ontwaakt

The gents are coming from the dark woods The Veluwe and the band are keeping their traditions in high regards. The songs are about mythology over the folklore from the past residents and their stories. After a demo, called "Gelderse Drek" this is their first whole album.

Despite the first is fast, they are playing more slower based black metal with fast parts, with clean vocals and raw pitched vocals and not to forget the screams.

They open with "Dwaallichtbezwering" and they use varied tempos to keep the listener occupied, and the varied way of the use of vocals is great. Then there is a good first song with some more slower black metal oriƫntated. "Wera Wulfa" is another faster song and is like the opener.

The songs are heavy and still black metal, their sound is quite nice sounding.

The deeper slower black metal fans will like the heaviness of the songs, and in the trend of traditional Dutch language this is a good band, great quality and a good sound. So the first album is a good one, they set the tone of what they like to play and the message is understood.
