Review: Fall - The Insatiable Weakness

Today’s review is about Texan Progressive/Melodic Death Metal band Fall’s self-released album “The Insatiable Weakness”, which will be released on January 26th.

Well, what to say? In the accompanying description, the record is praised as “a tour de force of dual-guitar firepower and unforgettable melodies”. Well, overall unfortunately not so much… in the best cases („Not Of The Sky“ and „…To Dust“), the songs remind of Soilwork (no surprise there, as Dirk Verbeuren was the guest drummer on this record).

In the worst, the melodies, riffs and notes are aligned in a way which seems to be pure coincidence. No concept, no nothing.

Let’s skip the production part, just a friendly advice here to get a professional mixer for this job next time.

Well, what remains is the greatest part disappointment, with the eventual exception of the two aforementioned songs, which are still worth being listened to.

Let’s hope for a better next album! 2/10.
