Nightfell's Darkness Evermore streaming at Noisey, out next week

Portland, Oregon-based Nightfell -- the outfit founded by Todd Burdette (Tragedy, His Hero Is Gone, Warcry) and Tim Call (Aldebaran, Mournful Congregation, Sempiternal Dusk, Saturnalia Temple) -- is just over a week from seeing the release of their second LP, Darkness Evermore, through 20 Buck Spin, and the entire record is now playing via Noisey.

Nightfell's morose brand of metal does simply doesn't even acknowledge genre barriers, as the duo organically creates an intense, brooding brand of musical hatred forged of their own volition. Picking up where their 2014 debut LP The Living Ever Mourn left off, on the potent Darkness Evermore, the band unloads more than forty-minutes of new material through six demoralizing new tracks recorded and mixed at Red Lantern Studios by Evan "Maus" Mersky, mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, and bearing cover art paintings by Carl Auge of His Hero Is Gone.

As the impending street date for the anxiously awaited new Nightfell album grows closer, Vice Magazine's Noisey music channel is now playing the entire Darkness Evermore early, stating next to the exclusive stream, "Nightfell's new album is so, so good. The guitar tone alone is worth writing a sonnet about... It's a death metal album with big ambitions; it doesn't reach for the psychedelics like your Morbus Chrons or go glam like your Tribulations, but it also ignores the caverns and the murk and the Golgolthan apery that consumes so many other millennial death metal bands. It takes a tone ripped straight out of Bolt Thrower's rehearsal space, adds a black metal edge, and forges ahead into majestic melodic territory...."

Listen to Nightfell's Darkness Evermore LP exclusively through Noisey at this location.

Darkness Evermore will see release through 20 Buck Spin next Friday, September 11th on CD and digital platforms, and the 12" LP on October 23rd. Digital preorders are live via Bandcamp here and preorders for the CD here. Vinyl preorders will be activated shortly.

Nightfell will transform from a studio-only duo into a roaming entity in the months ahead, taking their threatening anthems to the stage on tour for the first time with a full live lineup. Stand by for more details on this incarnation of the band late in 2015.
