Review: Ahab - The Boats Of The Glen Carrig

The band Ahab is formed in late 2004, the four-piece has continuously worked its way to the top of (funeral) doom. The Boats of the Glen Carrig is gracefully nestled in between slow-motion anthems and haunting melodies.

Onto the album itself: the first song is "The Isle" it begins slowly so they set the scene for what is to come. The vocals on this song are very clean of vocalist Daniel Droste. Along a nice beat and riffs this song ends. The second song "The Thing That Made Search" begins in the same way slow and steady and then kicks of with the vocals and riffs. The closing track of this album is "To Mourn Job" this song again starts slowly and builts it up. The vocals are catching and clean. Even this is the final track it leaves the listener amazed from track to track. This is such a great album with all very good funeral doom songs.

If you like Ahab or (funeral) doom this is such an album for you. Even i was amazed by this album. Go and listen!
